Known as "The Surfing Capital of Puerto Rico" and "The Land of Beautiful Sunsets", visitors to Rincón have discovered that this small town offers more than just surfing and sunsets. Although Rincón is a small town of only 11,000 residents it has attracted visitors from all over the world for many years. Rincón does not offer the glamorous nightlife that you would find in Puerto Rico's capital (San Juan). Nevertheless, its charming beachfront restaurants, bars and inns offer a much more authentic sample of Puerto Rico's Caribbean hospitality.

Watersports abound in this area. Due to the geographic location of the town of Rincón, its northern beaches are considered part of the Atlantic Ocean, while the southern beaches belong to the Caribbean Sea. Surfers visit the northern side of Rincón to find what surfing connoiseurs consider  the best surfing spots in the Caribbean, while bathers, divers and kayakers prefer the much calmer southern beaches.
 

 If you visit Rincón during the Winter months you will get a chance to see the endangered humpback whales, who visit Rincón during their mating season (these honeymooners have been visiting Rincón for many years and just love the town!!!)

Small inns in Rincón, such as Parador Villa Antonio, offer comfortable facilities for travelers who are looking for a place where they can just relax and escape their daily stress. All you need is a pair of shorts, some T-shirts, a bathing suit, and your favorite book. Once you get to Rincón you can rent a kayak, snorkeling gear, surfboard, or you might decide to do nothing and just stay on the beach all day long!
